Finland & Ukraine Unite: Strengthening Ties for a Secure European Future

On August 19, Finland's European Affairs and Ownership Steering Minister, Joakim Strand, held a telephone conversation with the newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Taras Andriyovych Kachka. The calls highlighted a strong partnership between Finland and Ukraine, including Finland's continuous support for Ukraine, the status of bilateral relations, intensive integration with the European Union towards Ukraine's passage, and Russia's wide international status of the ongoing war shaping the involvement of Russia. Minister Strand emphasized Finland's unwavering commitment to Ukraine, emphasizing that the two countries are working together to secure a justified and permanent peace and combat Russia's illegal tasks. He said that Finland sees Ukraine's grace of the European Union as a strategic priority and that Helsinki is scheduled to stand with Kyiv in taking the necessary steps towards full membership.

Strand stated that joining with the European Union will not only benefit Ukraine but also contribute to the firmness and affluence of the whole European region. He also said that Finland and their collaborations with other partners are focused on improving a safe and rich future for Europe, and Ukraine is strongly implicated in that perception. The new role of the kachka focuses on strengthening the relationship with European and Euro-Atlantic institutions in an important phase in Ukraine's integration journey. The conversation is a symbol of both solidarity and forward-looking support, which outlines Finland's readiness to provide political support and practical assistance. This dialogue reflects the role of Finland as an assistant partner for Ukraine, while even the aspirations to join the European Union indicate extensive European unity against Russian aggression.
